Energy does not mean electricity.

Energy is in the system (solar, hydro, geothermal, etc).

Energy is not created. It just flows.

Storage is just slowed flow.

Energy can be stored in many forms:
hydrogen, biomass, etc. (Roger Burkhart)

(Reference again: bell curve gives way to long tail)

End of large scale energy production,
transformed into many small scale productions
(issue of storage and transportaion, cf. food)

-----------------

Plurality = many collectors, many sources

Diversity = *different* collectors, *different* sources

These two must both be present.

M2M = from few big producers and distribution grids, to many smaller producers and distribution networks. Everything is connected. Not a global grid, but a global network.

P2P = No power backbone. No centralized distribution. And, therefore, no brown-outs, failures, bottlenecks. Energy can flow where it needs to.

D.I.O. = No power companies. YOUR solar cell; YOUR fuel cell; YOUR windmill. Or at least, many farmers producing biomass, not just one company.

[The SI objection that no centralization means no harnessing of expertise should come at the end of the book.]

Objects & relations = For objects, small and adaptable and prolific collectors. For relations, the ability to transform energy from one method of storage to another easily.
